Bella Vista and Ponderosa are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Bella Vista came up short against Vista del Lago and fell 5-2. The loss continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Rosie Harrod was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Gambone, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Ponderosa had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

Not much got past Haley Warney, who gave up just two hits to keep Inderkum off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kate McCartney, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Molly McFarland, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Ponderosa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 10-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Ponderosa pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bella Vista, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Bella Vista suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Ponderosa in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
