Desert Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Desert Chapel Eagles 56-22. That's more bragging rights for the Conquerors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Desert Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Mario Gallo, who threw for 190 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 49 yards and one touchdown. 111 of Gallo's passing yards were hauled in by Eusebio Gallo, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Desert Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Desert Christian Academy, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cashton Scott, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Desert Chapel saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayvon Garcia picked up 157 receiving yards and one score. Garcia didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made four total tackles. Another player making a difference was Samuel Mourhess, who threw for 308 yards and a pair of TDs.

Desert Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Desert Chapel, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Christian Academy will face off against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Desert Chapel, they will challenge San Jacinto Valley Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
