Basketball Recap: Blackduck Comes Up Short

Blackduck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Cook County Vikings, falling 85-55. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Denali Blackwell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cook County, to rack up 43 points and five rebounds. The match was Blackwell's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. Parker Backstrom was another key player, putting up eight points along with 12 boards and six blocks.

Blackduck's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Cook County, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Looking ahead, Blackduck will host Red Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cook County, they will challenge Two Harbors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
