Preview: Vaux Big Picture vs. Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors
Vaux Big Picture will head out on the road to square off against the Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Vaux Big Picture sitting on five straight victories and Sankofa Freedom Academy on three.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 26 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact Vaux Big Picture proved on Thursday. They walked away with a 53-43 victory over Parkway Center City.
It was another big night for Cameron Rembert, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kurtis Jackson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, it was close, but last Tuesday Sankofa Freedom Academy sidestepped Audenried for a 39-36 win.
Vaux Big Picture's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Sankofa Freedom Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
