Football Recap: Carbondale Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Carbondale lost against Mt. Vernon back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Terriers and the Rams were almost perfectly matched up, but the Terriers suffered a 52-51 loss.

Despite the loss, Carbondale still got an impressive performance from Davin Wooley, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 182 yards and one TD on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was Savion Jayden Thomas-Mims, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only nine carries.

Carbondale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbondale will challenge Collinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will square off against Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
