Softball Recap: Eastlake Find Success

Eastlake won the last time they faced Franklin and things went their way on Friday too. Eastlake came out on top against Franklin by a score of 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Ava Licerio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Licerio was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Camila Tovar and Celina Estrada did most of the damage at the plate: Tovar scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Estrada went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Estrada has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Alexis Garcia, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Eastlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Eastlake's record is now 18-8. As for Franklin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15-1.

Coincidentally, Eastlake and Franklin will both be playing Pebble Hills the next time they take the field. Eastlake will head out to face Pebble Hills at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Franklin will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
