Basketball Recap: Westside Beats Liberty for Their Fifth Straight Win

WestSide came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Liberty Raiders by a score of 67-58. The score was all tied up 33-33 at the break, but the Renegades were the better team in the second half.

Leading WestSide to victory were Kadien Vance and Coltin Lester. Vance went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Lester dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Those 11 boards gave Lester a new career-high. Bryson Blankenship was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxson Workman, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kris Bowman, who posted 11 points.

WestSide's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

WestSide has already played their next game, a 61-51 loss against James Monroe on the 14th. Liberty has also already played their next match (against Independence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
