Basketball Recap: Marshall Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Marshall Christian Academy was the 40-37 winner over East Texas Homeschool Sports when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Marshall Christian Academy Guardians fell to the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers 58-54.

It was another big night for Will Mason, who shot 5-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds for East Texas Homeschool Sports. That's the most points Mason has posted since back in November of 2024. Micah Dragoo was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Marshall Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

Marshall Christian Academy and East Texas Homeschool Sports could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Marshall Christian Academy (ranked 1013th) will meet Arkansas (ranked 202nd) at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. Meanwhile, East Texas Homeschool Sports will take on Tyler HEAT at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th down 783 places (885 vs. 102).
