Basketball Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Comes Up Short

Somerset Sky Pointe lost against Somerset Academy Losee back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles and the Somerset Academy Losee Lions didn't end well, with the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles falling 84-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe still got an impressive performance from Emmitt Bell, who went 7 for 17 en route to 24 points. With that strong performance, Bell is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Mavier Weatherspoon was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Somerset Academy Losee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roderick Johnson, who posted 19 points. Johnson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasin Musa, who earned 15 points.

Somerset Sky Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Somerset Academy Losee, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Somerset Sky Pointe has already played their next matchup, an 83-54 loss against Sierra Vista on the 16th. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-44 win against Cheyenne on the 16th.
