Recap: Pontotoc Warriors vs. South Panola Tigers
The Pontotoc Warriors won the last time they faced the South Panola Tigers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Pontotoc walked away with a 59-52 victory over South Panola. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pontotoc.
South Panola's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Griffin, who scored 19 points along with 9 rebounds. Lamorris Walls was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for South Panola, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
Pontotoc is on the road again on Saturday and play against New Site at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (New Site is ranked 95th, while Pontotoc is ranked 77th). South Panola won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cleveland Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st.
