Basketball Recap: Squalicum Comes Up Short

Squalicum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakewood Cougars. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Squalicum's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lakewood, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Squalicum and Inglemoor will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lakewood, they will take on Lake Stevens at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lakewood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
