Basketball Game Preview: James Logan Colts vs. Grant Pacers

The James Logan Colts will take on the Grant Pacers in a tournament on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, James Logan ended up a good deal behind Hayward and lost 76-59. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Grant entered their tilt with Davis Sr. on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Blue Devils 63-39. Given the Pacers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grant's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for James Logan, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-6.

James Logan suffered a grim 82-58 defeat to Grant in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can James Logan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
