Softball Game Preview: Rochester Falcons vs. Cousino Patriots

The Rochester Falcons will face off against the Cousino Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Rochester is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bishop Foley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 8-2 to the Ventures.

Cousino couldn't beat Port Huron on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Patriots took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Hawks. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payton Hewitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Haley Neal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Rochester's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Cousino, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
