Softball Recap: Copper Hills Comes Up Short

Hunter hit Copper Hills with a five-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 6-5. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Janie Coats and Dulce-Liliani Moreno did some serious damage despite the final result: Coats went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run, while Moreno went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Hotton, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Copper Hills and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Hunter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Coincidentally, Copper Hills and Hunter will both be playing Davis the next time they take the field. The Wolverines will head out to face the Darts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Grizzlies will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
