Basketball Recap: Woodruff Wolverines vs. Broome Centurions

Woodruff suffered their closest loss since February 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Broome Centurions by a score of 49-47. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Centurions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Broome can attribute much of their success to Lance Henderson, who posted ten points along with seven boards and five assists. Henderson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Ramirez was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Woodruff's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Broome, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Woodruff will venture away from home to challenge Greer Middle College at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greer Middle College knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Woodruff likes a good challenge. As for Broome, they will host Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Broome has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
