Basketball Recap: Mishawaka Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Mishawaka Cavemen came up short against the Northview Knights and fell 56-47. While losing is never fun, the Cavemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Knights are ranked 11th).

Northview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Goff led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Perry, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 15 points.

Mishawaka's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Northview, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mishawaka will head out to challenge Plymouth at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Northview, they will host Greencastle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season.
