Softball Game Preview: East vs. East Palestine Bulldogs

East is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and East Palestine a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. East will host the East Palestine Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. East has given up an average of 23.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East came up short against McKinley on Tuesday, falling 25-1.

Meanwhile, East Palestine fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Memorial on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 11-9.

Kennedy Andre was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over nine innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kara Lewis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Graycee Ford was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for East Palestine, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
