Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alan Vindiola and Israel Rangel Lead Imperial to Victory

Imperial waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the West Shores Wildcats.

Imperial was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 25-20.

Imperial was led to victory by Israel Rangel and Alan Vindiola. Rangel had 14 aces and 12 assists, while Vindiola had 12 digs. With that strong performance, Rangel is now averaging an impressive 2.4 aces per game.

They weren't the only good server: Imperial was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 45 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Imperial's record now sits at 4-5. As for West Shores, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Imperial Tigers challenge Brawley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Imperial is facing Brawley at the right time seeing as Brawley is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for West Shores, they will challenge Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
