Basketball Recap: Hunter Peed's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Friendship Christian over Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill

Friendship Christian lost against Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Friendship Christian Falcons took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lion 18-8 in the first quarter.

Friendship Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hunter Peed, who posted 13 points along with five boards and four steals. Patrick Keller was another key player, putting up nine points.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Solano Barbeito led the charge by scoring 19 points and six rebounds. Those 19 points gave Barbeito a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Kinder, who had 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Friendship Christian and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Friendship Christian beat Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill by a score of 41-28 on Thursday.
