Plainfield East and Plainfield South are an even 4-4-2 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Bengals will challenge the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Plainfield East fell victim to Marist and their airtight defense on Sunday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the RedHawks.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield South duked it out with Joliet West on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Plainfield South couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Rachel Brayton, who's now up to five this season.

Plainfield East has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6-1 record this season. As for Plainfield South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Everything went Plainfield East's way against Plainfield South in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Plainfield East made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
