Baseball Recap: Polk County's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Polk County can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Pittsburg Pirates, sneaking past 5-4. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jesse Holden was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Holden was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Justin Green, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Zanten Branham also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
