Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Skates Past Crenshaw Christian Academy with Ease

There's no place like home for Sparta Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They claimed a resounding 52-20 win over the Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Sparta Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Salter, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Salter a new career-high in steals (four). Kaitlyn Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.

Sparta Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-6.

Sparta Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hooper Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 30th. Crenshaw Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Sparta Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
