Volleyball Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

Oak Hill lost against Poca back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Dots by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Oak Hill sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 15-10.

Their offense was headlined by Jenna Maynor and Amy Hollandsworth, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Danielle Parsons and her 22 assists. Maynor was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poca to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emalynn Anderson, who had six digs and three aces. Christiana Childers was another key player, getting six digs and three aces.

Oak Hill dropped their record down to 13-15-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Poca, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-1-4.

Oak Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against George Washington on the 4th. As for Poca, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Huntington on the 2nd.
