Softball Recap: Baker County Wildcats vs. Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Baker County had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles 8-2. The result was nothing new for Baker County, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Chloe Woods looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Baleigh Shields was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Masyn Barlow, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base.

On Paxon School For Advanced Studies' side, Mackenzie Pitzer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

The win (which was Baker County's seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-5. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

As of now, neither Baker County nor Paxon School For Advanced Studies have any future games scheduled.
