Baseball Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Cascade Cougars

For the second straight game, Newport will face off against Cascade. The Cubs will venture away from home to take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Newport has four straight wins, Cascade has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Newport barely beat Cascade the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Cougars on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Cascade's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RG Majors, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Majors has launched this season.

Newport's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
