Volleyball Recap: Berean Christian Comes Up Short

Berean Christian managed to slip by Northgate the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Broncos on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured eight losses in a row.

Berean Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

Nia Cottonham paced Berean Christian's offense, picking up seven kills. Cottonham got some help from Adeline Bellig and her 13 assists. Marley Seelye and Anna McCombe kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Berean Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Northgate, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Berean Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Campolindo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northgate will square off against rival Las Lomas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
