North Central I Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances in games played on Thursday and Friday (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

A Season-Best Performance from Alex Nicholson Leads Fort Bragg over Upper Lake

On Friday, Fort Bragg got the W thanks in part to Alex Nicholson playing the best football he has all season. Nicholson rushed for 251 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 66 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Upper Lake had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Nicholson it was a similar story. When Nicholson last faced the Cougars back in October of 2023, he rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 64 yards and a touchdown.

Dejohn Came Up Big in Kelseyville's 20-17 Win

Another Kelseyville player making an appearance on this list is Michael Dejohn. He rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season.

If history really does repeat itself, Dejohn might just drop another big game when he faces off against Lower Lake on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Dejohn saw the Trojans), he rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

While Willits might've come up empty on Friday, Kolbe Bufardeci wasn't going down without a fight. Bufardeci turned in nothing short of a gem, making ten total tackles. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards.

Willits moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Bufardeci and Willits are on the road again on Friday to play Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m.
