Baseball Recap: Greeley Central Comes Up Short

Greeley Central lost against Berthoud back in June of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Spartans, falling 13-3. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row.

Greeley Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaycob Padilla, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Owen Yost also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Greeley Central's record is now 1-14. As for Berthoud, they moved to 7-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Greeley Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
