Basketball Recap: High Point Takes a Loss

After flying high against Belvidere last Saturday, High Point came back down to earth. The High Point Wildcats came up short against the Voorhees Vikings on Tuesday, falling 59-39. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Vikings are ranked 99th).

High Point now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Voorhees, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the High Point Wildcats challenge the Kittatinny Regional Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kittatinny Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully High Point likes a good challenge. Voorhees has already played their next contest (against Warren Hills Regional), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
