On Thursday, the McClave Cardinals humbled the Las Animas Trojans with a 72-45 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 27 points or more this season.

Tuff Kelley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last 16 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Myles Northrup, who posted ten points and six assists.

McClave was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They racked up six more assists than Las Animas' also-impressive total of ten.

Despite the loss, Las Animas still got an impressive performance from Aaron Vargas, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 17 points. Kollin Reyher was another key player, putting up five points.

McClave's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Las Animas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

McClave wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-40 win against Cheyenne Wells on the 21st. As for Las Animas, they have also already played their next game, a 75-58 loss against Hoehne on the 21st.
