Volleyball Recap: Cosby's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Cosby unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Powhatan Indians by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Cosby actually scored more points across those five sets (104-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 16-25, 12-25, 16-14.

Merynn Chavis paced Cosby's offense, picking up 16 kills. Chavis got some help from Jamalynn Ross and her 24 assists. Kaci Richardson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cosby's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Powhatan, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Cosby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against L.C. Bird on the 9th. As for Powhatan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Monacan on the 9th.
