Suggested Video

Severance has won three straight games at home, while Berthoud has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Severance Silver Knights will host the Berthoud Spartans at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Severance: 2.4, Berthoud: 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Last Thursday, Severance was able to grind out a solid win over Thompson Valley, taking the game 8-5.

Aubrey Dare made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Alex Avila was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Carly Zentveld, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Berthoud never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Timnath 23-0. Considering the Spartans have won ten matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Like Severance, Berthoud also got a great game from a two-way player: Lilly Dodd. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dodd was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Lexi Griffin was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Hughes, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Berthoud kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matches.

Severance has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season. As for Berthoud, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both team's pitchers. Severance hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of 0. However, it's not like Berthoud struggles in that department as they've averaged 0. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
