Soccer Recap: Irrigon Comes Up Short

Irrigon came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Umatilla Vikings, falling 6-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Umatilla this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in August.

Irrigon's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Umatilla, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-0-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Irrigon will challenge rival Riverside at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Umatilla is set to face off against their familiar foe Stanfield/Echo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
