Baseball Recap: Coconino Takes a Loss

Coconino came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to the Mingus Marauders. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 20-15 to the Marauders when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Steven Stone was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Coconino is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10-1 otherwise.

Coconino's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Mingus, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-13-1.

Coming up, Coconino will venture away from home to square off against Poston Butte at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Mingus, they will host Mica Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
