Soccer Game Preview: Aynor vs. Waccamaw

Aynor is 0-10 against Waccamaw since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Aynor Blue Jackets are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the Waccamaw Warriors at 7:30 p.m.

Aynor is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Friday, they were much more limited against Loris on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lions who were credited with the victory. Loris got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Aynor's three. Aynor fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lions since on Friday.

Waccamaw is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: North Myrtle Beach, who was ranked 16th at the time (Waccamaw was ranked eighth). Waccamaw never let North Myrtle Beach get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Bennett Blair and Jason Green-Adams scored both of Waccamaw's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Waccamaw's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three matches. As for Aynor, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Aynor suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Waccamaw in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Aynor avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
