Soccer Recap: Thursday's Win Is Seaforth's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Seaforth proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Middle Creek Mustangs 1-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Seaforth's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Middle Creek are ranked 220th).

Seaforth's one-goal win came courtesy of Sofia Viana, who's now up to 28 this season.

Seaforth has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those nine matches. As for Middle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Seaforth will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Cummings at 7:00 p.m. Seaforth will be up against Cummings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.33 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Middle Creek, they will head out to square off against Apex Friendship at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
