It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Fort Stockton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pecos Eagles with a sharp 11-4 victory. Considering the Panthers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rylan Nunez and Gerry Diaz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Nunez struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Diaz pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fort Stockton is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 9-11 otherwise.
