Baseball Recap: Cocalico Takes a Loss

Cocalico had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-13 to make it six. They fell 4-0 to Exeter Township. Cocalico was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Exeter Township apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

As for Exeter Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Exeter Township's part, the team relied heavily on Carter Redding, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Redding has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Franek, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Looking ahead, Cocalico will be playing in front of their home fans against Donegal at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Exeter Township, they will head out to challenge Reading at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
