Basketball Recap: Kami Digennaro's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Walsh Jesuit over Padua Franciscan

Walsh Jesuit was the 43-39 winner over Padua Franciscan when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Walsh Jesuit Warriors lost 72-51 to the Padua Franciscan Bruins on Saturday.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kami Digennaro, who posted 18 points and three steals. Digennaro is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Esterak, who had 18 points.

Even though they lost, Walsh Jesuit smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Walsh Jesuit dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Padua Franciscan, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walsh Jesuit will challenge Cuyahoga Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Walsh Jesuit is facing Cuyahoga Falls at the right time seeing as Cuyahoga Falls is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Padua Franciscan, they will square off against Keystone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keystone will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Padua Franciscan surely won't give up without a fight.
