Softball Recap: Borrego Springs Gets the Win

Borrego Springs lost to Mountain Empire back in April of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Borrego Springs Rams came out on top against the Mountain Empire Redhawks by a score of 28-23.

Janessa Nehrer was incredible, firing off six stolen bases, five runs, and two triples while going 5-for-6. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anavey Gonzalez, who scored five runs and stole Four bases. while going 5-for-7.

Nehrer wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Borrego Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Borrego Springs now has a winning record of 3-2.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mountain Empire: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
