Basketball Game Preview: Hill-Murray Pioneers vs. Mahtomedi Zephyrs

The Hill-Murray Pioneers will challenge the Mahtomedi Zephyrs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hill-Murray knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Mahtomedi likes a good challenge.

Hill-Murray is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Como Park, posting an 82-53 victory. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Mahtomedi sidestepped Two Rivers for a 54-51 win. The Zephyrs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Hill-Murray is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Mahtomedi, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Hill-Murray didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mahtomedi in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 61-57 victory. Will Hill-Murray repeat their success, or does Mahtomedi have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
