Basketball Recap: Founders Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Founders Classical Academy and Newman International Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Founders Classical Academy had to settle for second. They lost to the Newman International Academy Warriors at home by a 58-43 margin.

Arianna Miranda continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Newman International Academy, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Miranda a new career-high in assists (eight). Ayden Pillow was another key player, going 7 of 12 en route to 17 points.

Newman International Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season.

Founders Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newman International Academy, they will face off against ILTexas Arlington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. ILTexas Arlington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
