Baseball Game Preview: Shalom Christian Academy Flames vs. Saint James Saints

The Shalom Christian Academy Flames will head out on the road to face off against the Saint James Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shalom Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Shalom Christian Academy was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Fairfield 8-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Flames as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Keaton Shands, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Corban Wenger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Saint James fell victim to Flint Hill and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Huskies. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Saint James saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Stonebraker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple. That triple was Stonebraker's first of the season.

Shalom Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Saint James, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
