The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lockhart, who took down 340th ranked Boerne-Champion, 34-32. CJ McKinney ran for 140 yards in the win.
Alamo Heights extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region IV District 27 this week by beating Tivy, 31-24. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Mules.
The Chargers' dynamic duo of Kyle Poeske and Michael Moloney proved tough for the Lions to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Poeske threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns and Moloney had 149 yards receiving. Dillon Manz helped Boerne-Champion's passing attack out by catching four balls for 85 yards.
Boerne-Champion's Poeske and Spencer Jarzombek have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Poeske has thrown for 2332 yards this season, while Jarzombek, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 47 catches for 683 yards. McKinney from Lockhart leads the league in rushing with 813 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alamo Heights takes on the Lions. As it stands, Mike Norment's team is in second, while Lockhart is in third.
The Lions moved up to 406 from 520 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region IV District 27. Lockhart was able to make move up by defeating Danny Threadgill's team 34-32.
