Basketball Recap: Carlynton Comes Up Short

Carlynton's tournament run continued when they took on Ellwood City on Saturday. The Carlynton Cougars took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ellwood City Wolverine. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellwood City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleb Servick, who went 8 for 15 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and four steals. Servick's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maykel Cuevas, who posted 11 points.

Carlynton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Ellwood City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlynton will head out to take on Sto-Rox at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ellwood City, they will take on Mohawk Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
