The Frankfort Redbirds are taking a road trip to face off against the Fairfield Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Frankfort is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Frankfort was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They skirted past Carmi-White County 4-3.

Autumn Pulliam spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Presley Trogolo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese James, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fairfield played against Eldorado on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Fairfield's record is now 10-12. As for Frankfort, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Everything went Frankfort's way against Fairfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Frankfort made off with a 16-5 win. Will the Redbirds repeat their success, or do the Mules have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
