Baseball Recap: Manvel Comes Up Short

Manvel extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 11-12 in the process. They lost 15-5 to the Dobie Longhorns. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their loss to the Longhorns from their previous meeting back in April of 2016.

Manvel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Tuiasosopo, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Christian Hamilton was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

As for Dobie, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.

On Dobie's side, Isaiah Jones was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Juelz Martinez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

While Manvel had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
