Basketball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello lost against Rantoul back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Monticello Sages fell 58-47 to the Rantoul Eagles. The Sages have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Rantoul, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-12.

Coming up, Monticello will take on PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Monticello surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rantoul, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 79-51 win against St. Thomas More on the 7th.
