Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Will Simon and Trey Hodo Lead Summit Classical Christian School to Victory

After losing to Charles Wright the last time they met, Summit Classical Christian School decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Summit Classical Christian School Archers strolled past the Charles Wright Tarriers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 67-49. Given the Archers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Tarriers are ranked 321st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Summit Classical Christian School to victory were Trey Hodo and Will Simon. Hodo went 11 for 21 on his way to 28 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals, while Simon dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Hodo is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Gledhill, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Summit Classical Christian School is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Charles Wright, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Classical Christian School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tyee at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Summit Classical Christian School is facing Tyee at the right time seeing as Tyee is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Charles Wright, they will challenge Cascade Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
