It's playoff time, and Breese Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over the Freeburg Midgets. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine contests by 33 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Owen Kehrer, who threw for 257 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Those 257 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Breese Central's leading receiver Conlan Harr was Kehrer's top target yet again, picking up 135 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Breese Central proved: they limited Freeburg to a paltry 1.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Payne Lynch for the heroic effort on defense: he. Breese Central didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

Breese Central's defense didn't let Joseph Carmack, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Freeburg's QB won't forget Bennett Becker anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

The victory (which was Breese Central's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.1 points over those games. As for Freeburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.

Breese Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-12 victory against Cahokia on the 15th. Freeburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
